FAQ’s

Do I need a Doctor’s referral before booking an appointment?
You DO NOT need a Doctor’s referral if you are paying for the treatment privately. We will issue a receipt, which you can send to your Extended Health insurance provider for reimbursement.
You DO need a Doctor’s referral if your injury is part of a Worksafe BC claim or an ICBC claim.

Do you accept Worksafe (WCB) claims?
Yes, we accept Worksafe-related injuries. You must have a Worksafe claim number in order for us to bill Worksafe for your treatment. To get a claim number, you need a Doctor’s referral and must fill out the necessary Worksafe paperwork before attending
Please bring your Care Card Number, Worksafe claim number and adjustor name/phone number and Doctor’s referral to the first visit.
If you do not have a Worksafe claim number or your claim has not been approved by Worksafe or is pending approval, you will have to pay for treatment privately. The Clinic will reimburse you the total cost of treatment, once you have been approved.

Do you accept ICBC claims?
Yes, we accept ICBC-related injuries. You must contact your ICBC adjustor to ensure all the required forms are completed BEFORE attending treatment. Your claim must be approved by ICBC in order for you to receive coverage for physiotherapy and/or massage therapy treatment.
Please bring your Care Card Number, ICBC claim number, ICBC adjustor name and phone number and Doctor’s referral to the first visit.
Patients who are approved for treatment need to pay $25/treatment session. Please keep your receipts and submit them to ICBC when settling your claim.

What should I wear to my appointment?

We recommend that you wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing, similar to what you would wear to the gym. The Physiotherapist or Massage Therapist will need to expose the injured area, please wear clothing that will allow this, ie shorts/T-shirts/sports-bra/tank-top etc.

How long are the appointments?
For Massage Therapy treatments, there are specific time-frames of half-hour or full-hour sessions.
For Physiotherapy, the first session will take approximately between 60-90 minutes and subsequent visits between 45-60 minutes. This will depend on whether you choose to do your exercises/apply ice etc at the Clinic, or at home. Please inform the Physiotherapist if you must be finished by a certain time to ensure the Therapist can accomplish everything he/she needs to during your session.

What happens if I am late for my appointment?
We ask that you please be punctual with your treatment times, as our Therapists manage their days based on a strict schedule. If you are going to be late, or are stuck in unexpected traffic, please phone the Clinic so our Therapists can know when to expect you. Most of the time, our Physiotherapists can manage their schedule to fit in a late patient, still providing a full and complete treatment session. It is much more difficult for Massage Therapists to adjust their schedule to see a late patient, often resulting in a shortened treatment session or even a canceled session, depending on how late the patient is.

What should I do if I have to cancel my appointment?
The Clinic requires 24 hours notification for all cancellations. Failure to do so could result in a no-show fee being charged to your account. We understand that your lives can often become very complicated in a short period of time, preventing you from attending scheduled appointments; we ask that you try and contact us as soon as possible to allow us to contact other patients who may be on a waiting list for treatment.
